Daniel Biran Bio
Daniel Biran is a seasoned expert in global security with a proven track record in establishing and leading integrated multinational security operations. With extensive experience in both the private and public sectors, Daniel has lent his expertise to organizations as diverse as the Israeli military, information technology consulting, and the pharmaceutical industry.
Throughout his career, Daniel has navigated high-risk and sensitive environments demonstrating deep capabilities in identifying, securing, and protecting critical organizational assets against external and internal threats.
Daniel’s expertise in threat assessment and planning has set him apart as a respected leader in the field of global security. While successfully achieving targeted objectives, his highly motivated and coordinated teams have operated in high-pressure environments spanning diverse geographies.
As Vice President of Global Security at Biogen, Daniel oversaw all aspects of security, including personnel, product, and information protection. His leadership resulted in the Biogen Global Security team being awarded the Gold Standard in Resilience, a testament to their efforts in crisis and risk management and business continuity. Prior to Biogen, Daniel held key roles at Genzyme, serving as the Director of Global Security Business Partners Services, responsible for protecting corporate assets and crisis planning efforts worldwide.
Before his corporate roles, Daniel served as the Managing Director for Business Controls and as Security Practice Leader at Citigate Global Intelligence, providing strategic consulting services to a diverse clientele, including major U.S. corporations, airports, and law enforcement agencies. He also led international security and threat assessment investigative projects.
Throughout his career, Daniel has received numerous accolades, including the Duty of Cate award by the International SOS and from the Pharmaceutical Security Cargo Coalition for contributions to the security of the pharmaceutical supply chain. An active member of industry associations, he has readily shared his insights and knowledge as a guest speaker at security forums and conferences.
Daniel holds a Leadership Diploma in Security from Georgetown University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality/Finance from Boston University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and is fluent in multiple languages, including English, Russian, Hebrew, Ukrainian, and French.
